My two sweeties and I went with my dad to Belmont Park yesterday...the gigantic horse raceway.
It has been over 20 years since I've been there. My dad used to bring me there when I was a little girl of around 3 years old. To this very day, he still loves to reminisce about those times in which I would hold onto his pants' pockets or his hand as he took me around the raceway tracks.
Over 20 years.
It is astounding.
And I somehow feel a little sentimental.
The raceway is pretty close to where we live.
And my God...it sure was beautiful and so incredibly HUGE and spawling.
Lush and green and spacious and extremely well-kept and full of people here and there making their bets and just enjoying the atmosphere.
The horses were stunning.
A jockey on his horse waved hello to D. and I.
So many areas to wander through...the three-story stadium with endless rows of seats...the pond with ducks...the countless areas where you could get so close to the horses...the picnic tables scattered throughout...there was so much to see and do and just experience.
It is an awesome place to just BUM all day long if you feel like it.
It was cloudy and windy out...no sunshine. The next time we plan on going, it has to be a warm sunny day.
And.
Most of all.
My dad was just so happy to finally be able to bring my almost-3-year-old D. there. He gave him piggy-back rides all throughout the raceway park.
My dad was happiness gone amok.
Heh.
It was kind of cool.
And yeah.
Sentimental.
