I'll be watching From Dusk 'Til Dawn tonight. I go mad for vampire movies. Some other favorites include Fright Night 1 and 2, The Lost Boys (of course!!!), Interview With The Vampire, Bram Stoker's Dracula (which is one of the most beautifully filmed movies ever...add to that Gary Oldham and Winona Ryder) and the always oddly spooky black and white Nosferatu, which is still the scariest-looking vampire of them all.
I am very picky about vampire movies. I abhor cheesy plots and characters.
I love reading about vampires. Two of my most adored vampire authors are Anne Rice and Poppy Z. Brite. Rice's The Vampire Lestat is so creative and lush. Brite's Lost Souls is simply beautiful...with punk/goth characters I embrace hungrily.
And hell yes, if I were to be any creature of the night, I'd STILL and ALWAYS WILL choose to be a lavish blood-drinking vampire. I can seduce. I can hypnotize. I can kill for liquid ruby blood. And oh...I'd be so killer gorgeous that no one would dare or even want to resist me. Eternal life...neverending sweet undead breaths...to be shared with my M. of course.
