I went through my closet this morning...the "store everything" type of closet. It took me a couple of grueling hours to wade through the massive clutter.

Here's the inventory of what I am saving :

-My collection of hardcover journals, all the way back from the late 1980s. Different covers, textures, handwriting, and mementos all beautifully safe and breathing their lives inside those closed covers. Also saved are the little miniature keys to open those journals which have locks. I am going to pour through all of my journals soon.

-Old stuffed animals (including my favorite...a small GUND lavendar pink walrus with white tusks). There was also the cute teddy bear that I handmade in a sewing class in junior high. It has chocolate brown fur and a little dress that is made of different shades of blue felt fabric.

-A dusky pink ceramic heart-shaped jewelry box that I made in high school.

-A couple of old Barbies, lots of doll clothes and accessories, and the 90120 Brenda and Dylan dolls. Yeah you can laugh if you want to.

-A whole green sturdy case full of wildlife information and picture cards.

-A pink and lavendar pegasus poster and a Smashing Pumpkins 1979 poster, where the band members are dressed as disco-goers wearing roller skates. Cool.

-A whole overflowing boxful of boardgames, including my favorite, Scrabble. Yes, I love creating words and getting points for it.

-My college papers and assorted exams that I was especially proud of. And of course I saved the papers from Professor Granville's class. Why did I have to save the papers from his class? Read this previous entry to refresh your memory.

And whoa, did I need that heavenly shower I just took a half-hour or so ago.

I feel like a million bucks right now...no more messy closet...and no more messy me.
