Ahhhhhhh. NY Giants lost. We lost. They were terrible. The Ravens won. Dammit. The Ravens. My diaryland name jinxed the Giants. Hehe. We sort of watched the Superbowl and then turned it off near the end of the fourth quarter. The Giants were l o n g - g o n e. I don't really care all too much anyway. I am not that nuts about football. I am more a baseball and basketball type anyways.
The nicest part of yesterday was when M., D., and I just went outside in the still-snow-covered front yard and just walked around and breathed in the fresh, cold, yet sunny air. D. was so thrilled to just make little footprints in the snow and to make designs with a broken tree branch. I went behind M. and suddenly said, “Give me a piggy-back ride!” He said, “Okay!” and crouched down a bit so I could climb on his back. Instead of carefully climbing on, I HOPPED onto his back like a leapfrog and yelled “Wheeeeee!!!!!” It caught him off-guard and he in turn yelled out, “Whoaaaaaaa” as he almost sprawled down face-first into the snow with me on his back. He was laughing. I was laughing. I was like Oooopsss!!! He said, “Geez! I didn’t know you were going to jump on me!” It was so much fun and he gave me the nicest piggy-back ride all over the front lawn. He tried to get me back for the leap-frog stunt by going very close to the low branches of the tree that is in the front of the yard. He’d run through the branches and I’d have to duck my head to prevent the branches from getting me. Then D. started throwing little handfuls of snow past the fence into the sidewalk. We did the same thing and then D. started throwing snow at M. and at me. I love my darlings.
Well...let's just say family gatherings can really give my a splitting headache. Don't get me wrong...it's really fun to see everyone and get and give red lucky packets full of money and eat...but near the end of the day, my head was getting weighed down, heavy. I had a headache. I hate having headaches. I hate when my brain feels like it's swooshing painfully to one side of my head and then radiates to the opposite direction. Like a nasty pendulum. Ouch.
Then I have to clean up the mess that was left...dirty dishes and tables and toys and such. Everyone left before the Superbowl's half-time. M. was a bit bummed, saying it's not as fun watching the Superbowl without lots of people. I then said I actually enjoyed the quiet at that moment. I was worn out. I was glad it was just us after a day full of lots of relatives going in and out...all that noise. Peace was BLISS. I drank a Hard Lemonade wine cooler...had some chips. It was nice. The wine cooler sort of made my headache a bit worse though so I didn't finish it.
It was just wonderful to turn in for the night and snooze next to my warm honey. I needed to sleep so desperately and so did he. And today he gave me the most lovely morning wake-up call. Hint hint. Giggles.
