M. and I may take an introductory guitar-playing class at a nearby community college. It would be $175 per person for ten sessions at two hours a session. Even though M. knows how to play the guitar already, he said that he could definately learn something from the class...that there is always something new a player can learn...new techniques, chords, scales, ideas, etc. More than anything, he thinks that it could be something really fun and worthwhile to do together. Just the two of us. It WOULD be fun...and I DO want to learn how to play the guitar. I don't know though...I might feel nervous in such a class...but this might be a good thing...this way, I won't slack off from practice due to frustration and/or lack of patience with myself...in such a class I WILL need to practice so I can learn AND not look like an idiot in front of the instructor and the other students. Besides, I would have M. there with me. He can help me, support me, encourage me, inspire me, make me less nervous. I would have a practicing buddy at home who already knows how to play. It'd be cool. Heck, the idea is sounding cooler the more I think about it. I'll decide tomorrow and perhaps we might indeed register for the class.
