It's currently 6:05 in the morning. It's SNOWING like MAD outside. 6 + inches of snow was predicted. A quick look outside indicates that it is already pounding into the +'s. It is snowing hard and fast. Beautiful. God, it's simply stunning. I was so excited about the snowstorm. There is nothing like snow and the weekend. It's even better because it's a Saturday. It seems that snowstorms just don't happen on Saturdays. They usually occur in the middle of the week or something, which is a bit disappointing. Who can really revel in the the beauty of snow if you have to go to work the next day? Having a snowstorm on Saturday is perfect. Think of toasty cuddles, hot cocoa, hot coffee, bundling up to dive into the snow, making snow forts and snow people. This is the most snow that I have seen in a long time. M., D., and I are going to have so much fun today! D. has never been outside when it has snowed/is snowing so much. He's going to be wide-eyed and delighted.
Other things. I was listening to Tori Amos' To Venus And Back 2-cd album yesterday night. She has the MOST beautiful voice of any female singer today. Heck, EVER. Her voice actually has the ability to match AND outsoar the music itself. Do you know how rare that is? How intense? Tears rolled down my cheeks when I was listening to a live version of Little Earthquakes. Sometimes I do not even pay attention to the lyrics...I just concentrate on the sheer beauty of her voice, which has such an incredible range. Her music is incredibly creative. So many instruments. And she plays the piano like it is the instrument of heaven AND hell. I love her lyrics, her style of songwriting. Her lyrics are cryptic. Poetic. The words convey so many feelings and are open to many interpretations. The words just dance magically together. They look beautiful. Sound beautiful when spoken. Transformed into deliciousness when sung. And Amos is so beautiful. Earthy AND otherworldly. She captures my heart. I love her.
