A DREAM

This is a wild dream.

Whoopi Goldberg is a caretaker/nurse of an animal shelter or farm that is situated outdoors in a grassy area. I am sure the animals there include regular animals ( I don't recall seeing regular ones though, like pigs and chickens, etc. but they are there). I do remember seeing some small earthworms that live in an shiny silver aluminum can. A little girl is taking care of the earthworms. Frank Langella is there at the animal shelter too.

If you don't know who he is...he's an actor...most famous for playing the role of Dracula, both on Broadway, and in a movie (which is where I first seen him). He made a piercing, sexy, and very dangerous Dracula...he was great. Langella was once in a relationship with Goldberg too (a fact I just realized when I was recounting my dream).

Anyway, back to the dream. Whoopi and Frank are at the shelter and they are friends and co-workers. Somehow, the shelter disappears after some time and they no longer see each other. In my dream, years and years pass...and it's like I am watching a movie of this and also in it simultaneously. There is like an inaudible voiceover...letting the audience know that Whoopi is probably better off not being with Frank...that he probably is old and gray now, with a big beer belly. Then I see Whoopi again...she is near the edge of a bay or a harbor...standing on a wooden platform that is at the end of a short bridge. The movie/dream pans over to Frank...he is now gray-haired with a paunchy belly, but still sweet. She decides to walk over to him and talk to him...to reminisce about the past good times and perhaps to start a new beginning with him. It is a happy ending. Then the same little girl appears...she has not aged...is still young. She spots a rusty old aluminum can at the edge of the platform. It still holds the earthworms!!! But the earthworms have grown monstrously huge. They have survived all these years without the aid of the shelter or its caretakers. The girl is so happy...the audience is so happy...it is so bright and sunny out. The earthworms crawl out of their can and practically slither through the air across the tops of our heads into the water...I am scared a little of course...I mean these were HUGE earthworms, all brown and slippery and slimy. But it was a beautiful and glorious moment. We then watch the earthworms swim away across the water.

Then...another creature from the old shelter reappears as well...I cannot remember what kind of insect or animal or underwater life it was...but it has survived too after all this time. It shows its gratitude by flying through the air and slamming itself upon the surface of the platform and bridge...by doing this, it has committed suicide...but it is happy...it did this out of affection...and all I could see was its body shattering, and breathtakingly beautiful sparks and fireworks coming off of it...it died so it could create fireworks for everyone to enjoy and remember. And then the movie/dream ends...on this happy but bittersweet note.

Wow.......such a strange strange dream.
